Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician. Born on October 20, 1964, she was the 49th Vice-President of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president, and also holds the title of most powerful female officer in American history. She is a senator and former US senator representing California. Harris was born and raised in Oakland, California. After starting her career as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Later she became the City Attorney of San Francisco. She was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003. In 2010, Harris was elected Attorney General of California. Harris was elected again in 2014. Harris was the junior member of the United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in the 2016 Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator and campaigned for reforms to healthcare and federal cannabis de-scheduling. She also advocated for an opportunity to become a citizen for immigrants who are not legally documented as well as the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons as well as progressive tax reform. She is well-known for the direct questioning she conducted of Trump government officials during Senate hearings.
